REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for this position. Task involves the regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, reaching, stooping, working in confined spaces, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (25-50 pound) items and occasionally very heavy (100+ pound) items; or may involve the complex operation of gasoline, electric, or diesel-powered machinery or shop equipment requiring the manipulation of multiple controls, fine adjustments or both; or the sustained operation, on a production basis, with associated equipment. Training and Experience
Note: The Sacramento State Drinking Water Course or equivalent training recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection must be completed before an application for employment can be submitted. Candidates currently enrolled in said programming may still apply, providing details regarding current status. Program must be fully completed before the successful candidate’s first day of employment. State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Water “C” Treatment Plant Operator License must be obtained within 15 months of hire.
High School Diploma or equivalent; supplemented by three (3) years’ experience in Utilities or a related field or, any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Characteristics of the Class
Under the general direction of the Team Leader II, is responsible for assistance in the operation of the Water Treatment Plant. Duties include assisting in the proper operation of the plant. Responsibilities include assistance in the delivery of safe drinking water that meets quality standards of the Federal and State regulatory agencies and of the Utilities Division to residential and commercial users in the service area.
