ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities)
- Maintains monitors and controls inventory of all parts, supplies and tools stocked in the Stores Warehouse & Main Tool Room.
- Issues all the same accurately to projects and processes into the IFS data base using barcode scanners and computer work station.
- Stocks, maintains and issues safety equipment as company safety policy and OSHA regulations dictate.
- Ensures all tools issued are in good, safe working condition and repairs or has tools repaired as needed.
- Ensures all power tools are identified and permanently marked, also logged for tracking any warranty issues.
- Ability to legally drive to off-site locations to deliver or retrieve repair equipment & supplies using van, pickup and flatbed trucks.
- Must be able to secure all loads for safe transportation.
- Ability to perform periodic inventories and comply with inventory audits.
- Ability to do all requests for purchase through the IFS computer system.
- Must work professionally with all customers, vendors, sub-contractors and compliance organizations.
- Must follow guidelines as required by company policy, OSHA regulations and immediate supervision.
- Understand, promote and adhere to a Safety First culture by following safety guidelines and requirements at all times, understanding and properly utilizing the appropriate personal protective equipment for each situation.
- Receive material and load from truck using industrial equipment, check material in including data entry of receipts. Insure that material is properly marked and logged.
- Accurate and detailed tracking of issued materials.
- Consistently meet individual daily goals as set by managers, supervisors and designated lead employees.
- Keep warehouse and areas organized and clean; organize different types of parts/machinery into kits.
- Always look for ways to improve operations and organize for efficiency.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Attend training classes to include but not limited to Competent Person in Fall Protection Inspection and Certification & forklift training up to 360, etc.
- Load and unload supplies to and from trucks, carts, pallets, and storage shelves.
- Distribute materials to specific craft, vessels, or area of shipyard where needed.
- Package, shrink-wrap, and band freight onto crates, pallets, and cartons.
- Stack materials on and off pallets and shelves.
- Ability to collect, review, and verify all shipping and receiving documentation for contractor (CFM), government (GFM), owner furnished (OFM), contractor and subcontractor materials.
- Ability/knowledge to inspect shipment for damage.
- Ability to verify quantities and descriptions of materials and P.O. #’s compared to packing lists.
- Report and resolve discrepancies for all customers.
- Knowledge of documentation and storage for all customers and subcontractors
JOB SCOPE:
This position routinely works with minimal supervision which requires the individual to be a motivated self-starter focused on departmental tasks and functions. Must have the flexibility to work weekends and daily overtime as needed to support projects.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not normally carry supervisory responsibility.
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
This position works both independently and as part of a team. The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with others within the team, in other parts of the organization, and within other closely aligned organizations is essential in this role.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Safely perform work on ladders, and at heights of 20 feet or more.
- Recognize and resolve unsafe working conditions.
- Effectively communicate information and ideas in English both verbally and in writing without assistance or translation.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment to include forklifts and basic rigging.
- Ability to become certified in the operations and control of equipment and systems, including Forklifts up to 360’s (15-ton+).
- Must demonstrate a sharp attention to detail to eliminate errors.
- Check equipment for deficiencies or malfunctions and reports problems to supervisor
- Keep entire yard organized and efficient for production process
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High-school diploma, or equivalency certificate
- A minimum of one (1) year experience using a forklift and/or crane in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Previous forklift certification preferred
- Understanding of material handling and OSHA guidelines
- Basic computer skills- excel, word, etc.
- Warehouse experience is preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment is in an industrial setting which includes noise, fumes, dust and inclement weather.
- Work is performed in a wide variety of environments including heights of 20 feet or more, small and/or confined spaces, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Will routinely bend, twist, kneel, walk, climb, and reach for 1-12 hours per day.
- Will sit, stand, and walk for 1-12 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 1-75 lbs throughout the day. Must be able to push or pull up to 75 lbs throughout the day.
