Position Summary

The Warehouse Associate performs daily warehouse receiving, stocking and put away activities while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

• Receive and put away stock material accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Ensure outgoing freight is shipped efficiently each day.
• Handle returned goods properly and promptly.
• Handle customer returns and credits in a timely fashion.
• Maintain clean and safe work area, including delivery vehicles.
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.

Additional Responsibilities

• Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
• Complete assigned training in a timely manner.
• May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process.
• Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates.
• Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read and write.
• Basic math skills
• Ability to accurately pull the correct items.
• Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Some high school

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Forklift operation experience

Other

Work Environment:

• The Warehouse Associate works in a warehouse or loading dock area. May drive forklifts or operate pallet jacks.
• The associate may be exposed to fumes, odors, and/or dust.
• Temperatures in the work environment may vary between cold and hot depending upon the season.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk throughout warehouse and access storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, bending, and reaching.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and push and pull up to 300 lbs.
