REMOTE POSITION The Vice President - Technology & Engineering will lead Decisiv’s software delivery teams in support of its core marketplace offerings. S/he will serve at the nexus of technology and business requirements and will report to the Senior Vice President of Technology & Engineering (T&E). The VP - T&E will be directly responsible for providing; leadership and management to multiple engineering teams, providing the organizing and focusing of projects, clear direction, and organizational expectations. Additionally, the VP of T&E will maintain close collaboration with SVP (T&E) to build an organization with the skills and experience needed to implement scalable technology solutions in support of Decisiv’s overall marketplace positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership and Management
- Directly responsible for the leadership and management of multiple Engineering Managers and Directors leading a combination of diverse delivery teams.
- Supports, mentors, and provides routine feedback to engineering management within the T&E organization
- Contribute positively to a culture that upholds high standards of engineering integrity, professional knowledge/curiosity, communication clarity, and quality assurance
- Deep experience in managing complex projects with a variety of agile development and industry best practices at your disposal.
- Coordinate efforts as needed to maximize T&E efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with SVP (T&E) to track and report on T&E teams' productivity, quality, morale and job satisfaction.
- Technology/Product Alignment & Intra-company Collaboration
- Collaborate across teams with senior leadership of T&E, Product Strategy and Innovation, Customer Solutions, Finance and Business Development to ensure organized,
efficient creation of engineering tools and features
- Leverages functional area expertise to plan, schedule, and deliver cost effective technology in alignment with overall strategic business priorities
- Maintains comprehensive understanding of industry and marketplace. Leverages knowledge to impact customer and partner relations as well as internal policy-making.
- Spearhead T&E organization contributions to Decisiv strategy, innovation, and prioritization initiatives
- Help facilitate ongoing vendor relationships with SVP (T&E) to ensure Decisiv is well supported and following corporate policies
- Occasional travel (<10%) in support of customers and to explore new opportunities
Desired Skills and Experience
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science and minimum of 15 years of related experience, advanced degree with a minimum of 12 years of related work experience, or
17+ years equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of engineering management experience.
- 10+ years of full stack engineering experience.
- Expert-level experience in the management of software engineering teams. Must be comfortable “managing managers.”
- Proven record of success in leading professional engineering organizations. Including hiring and retaining engineers and engineering leaders.
- Conversant in engineering management/productivity tools (eg JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, G-Suite, performance monitoring software, etc.)
