Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Visual Merchandising Coordinator will be responsible for creating and developing seasonal presentation stories that define the Skechers brand image and key investments through our wholesale strategy with our partnering retailer. This position will assist in the development of maintaining company visual standards and will be directly responsible for the implementation or programs set forth by the Wholesale division. The success of this position will be measured by both vision and ability to continuously create excitement and freshness with the merchandise assortment for all divisions, in a manner that drives sales, growth and profitability.
A Visual Merchandising Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to make sure that all Skechers product lines are visually represented on every selling floor. They are to do so by using the Point of Purchase Materials provided to them by Skechers in a creative and appropriate way as dictated by the type of account and space provided within that account. In the case of stores where POP is not approved for use, they are to do their best to insure that the display of product is in the best possible location and out on the selling floor.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
Along with giving our product a great visual presence, it is the VMC’s job to build strong relationships with the sales associates working on the selling floors; thus insuring that someone is giving attention to our shoe displays on the days we are not present. It is also important that they have a good working relationship with their sales reps and managers on the wholesale side to be sure they are visiting the most important doors to the business.
The VMC’s are also responsible for coordinating all events that take place in their territories. These events include trade shows, trunk shows, B2B events and all Performance related events. It’s their responsibility to work with everyone involved for the set up and breakdown of these events, as well as the event itself. They are responsible for providing all visual materials and to sit with the accounts during the shows to find out what visual needs they have. Reports recapping these events must be turned in after the event is completed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
For all VMC’s who work in a territory where there’s a showroom, they are to be in the showroom once a week to help the showroom manager pull old samples and display the new ones. They are also responsible for filling in for the showroom manager when they are out sick or on vacation.
