As the Visual Design Intern, you will gain hands-on experience to hone your skills and build your portfolio of work. You will be asked to participate in communication team meetings, capture photography on construction sites, and help design/critique projects for internal and external use. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and works closely with the Visual Designer.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications or similar with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Basic knowledge of layout, typography, color, and other design fundamentals.
  • Ability to capture and edit photographs
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator (Premier Pro & After Effects a bonus).
  • Strong creative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
  • Mature, prompt, reliable, timely, and trustworthy.
  • Solid understanding of working in a professional environment.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Team spirit; you seriously care about what you do and appreciate collaborating with your colleagues.

Type of Environment

The work environment for this position is a typical office environment in which physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement will be necessary to perform requirements of the position such as accessing centrally located office equipment and may be subject to lifting of 35 lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing.
