OVERVIEW:
The Portfolio Management Group (“PMG”) is a specialized risk portfolio group that seeks to apply portfolio management techniques on a macro basis for the +$800 billion Banking Book portfolio and Citi’s $1.5 trillion Wholesale portfolio, which represents significant credit risk for Citi globally. PMG, which reports into the ICG Chief Credit Officer, is concentrating on a number of key initiatives to enhance Citi’s risk management discipline including portfolio limit frameworks, risk mitigation (hedging strategies), portfolio optimization and strategic initiatives. The PMG team addresses a variety of strategic risk issues across the global ICG and Citi credit portfolio and the unique opportunity to gain a strong understanding of a diverse set of risk management techniques. The group offers a lean structure with the potential for career progression, significant senior management exposure and works closely with many partners throughout the organization globally including all areas of Risk and Business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support PMG across the landscape of Remediation initiatives, such as wholesale credit risk remediation, MRA involvement, etc. This includes supporting the Head of Remediation initiatives in representing PMG interests in working group discussions, PMG involvement in action plan resolution, ideation of concentration management target state from an operating model / technology perspective, coordination of updates to wholesale concentration management frameworks resulting from Remediation activities, and communication of initiative updates to PMG management and senior management.
  • Engage with other concentration management stakeholders in the first and second line of defense as well as other business lines to develop a holistic wholesale target state
  • Become a subject matter expert regarding wholesale risk policies and procedures on extensions of credit and exposure management strategies across the business lines to identify best practices in both governance and operating processes as well as technology and systems capabilities
  • Staying up to date on relevant issues within the financial markets as it pertains to risk management which may future influence business decisions in the wholesale portfolio
  • Adapt to various developments in limit setting, stress testing, capital analysis, or regulatory initiatives across the firm which materially impact PMG frameworks and require enhancements as necessary
  • Participate in Ad-hoc projects to analyze and implement strategic frameworks in the bank to enhance risk management processes, expedite problem recognition and improve capital efficiency across the wholesale portfolio

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree and about 5 years of relevant experience, including knowledge of the financial markets and wholesale credit risk
  • Efficient technical skills in the form of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including familiarity with manipulating databases to efficiently extract appropriate data and evaluate insights / trends
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment, exhibiting a high degree of flexibility and ability to multi-task, while often operating independently as a key contact for credit risk managers and relationship managers
  • Strong inter-personal and organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, confidence to interact with senior internal management and a wide range of other key stakeholders across Risk and Banking departments
