Vice President of Human Resources The Vice President of Human Resources manages, directs, and coordinates departmental activities and programs for the Toledo Zoo’s Human Resources Department which encompasses HR, Safety and Volunteers. Oversees direction of organizational development, policies and programs covering employment, compensation, benefits, performance management, recruiting and retention, labor relations, terminations, and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. Vice President of Human Resources duties include: Minimum Training and Experience Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field, ten years experience in the HR arena with an organization that has 300 employees or more. Experience in public or private personnel management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. PHR or SPHR preferred. Reports to the President/CEO and is a member of the Senior Management Group involved with strategy development, tactical management planning and goal-setting. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires time worked in excess of forty hours per week.
