As part of its growth strategy, American Leak Detection is now seeking a dynamic and innovative Vice President of Human Resources to work with management to implement ALD’s people strategy and talent acquisition and retention. In addition to experience, the ideal candidate will be someone who can connect easily with people and can support an employee-oriented, high performance culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization, including ALD’s international offices
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
- Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes
- Monitor and manage day to day personnel issues
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Oversee payroll, compensation, and benefits; implement and communicate any plan and respond to employee questions and concerns
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in progressively responsible human resources role
- Demonstrated experience with human resources metrics
- Experience working with and understanding of HR systems and databases
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Deep knowledge of HR functions (talent management, recruitment etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication skills, including an ability to negotiate
- Adept at problem solving and conflict resolution
- Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities
- Results driven, self-motivated with emphasis on keeping customer and business commitments
- Consistently demonstrates highest level of personal ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and leads by example with strong values
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources
Job Location and Compensation Package
The position will be based at ALD’s corporate headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut. Ability to travel nationwide for HR and company-wide events is required. ALD offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, medical, dental, and vision, benefits as well as a tuition waiver, paid holidays, and FSA.
