We have an exciting opportunity to lead our Global Facility Management and Real Estate organization. Reporting into the SVP Global Supplier Management Group & Global Workplace Enterprise Services, the Vice President of Global Workplace and Enterprise Services (GWES) will be responsible for overseeing global facility operations, workplace strategy, and corporate real estate. This person will lead a robust team, including in-house and external real estate and workplace professionals, to build a multi-year facility, real estate and workplace strategy supporting the operating objectives and strategic growth initiatives of Merck. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a workplace strategy transformation - accelerating towards flexibility and have a hand in reshaping it around our colleagues needs and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Scope: This role will have 6 direct reports and work with an internal team of ~750 Company professionals and integrated facility management providers. Organization consists of teams supporting Facility Management, Real Estate Strategy, Transactions & Dispositions, Energy Management & Sustainability, Workplace Strategy, Integrated Facility Management Governance, Analytics & Innovation, Asset Management, and Maintenance Excellence. Operating expense budget of ~$1.2B and a 5-yr. Long Range Capital Plan of ~$2.9B. Global Footprint of 265 locations/~25M sq. ft w/ responsibility for all office, mixed-use campuses, and research laboratories.

Provide exceptional employee experiences through development and delivery of real estate, workplace, and facility programs seamlessly integrating our service partners into all processes. Ensure facility assets and infrastructure are well maintained and operational reliable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum 15-years of global experience in some of the following industries: Real Estate, Facilities Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Hospital & Laboratory.
  • Master of Business Administration degree preferred, but not required.
