Summary
Horner is looking for a CAT I Vibration Analyst to join our Electro-Mechanical Diagnostic Services (EMDS) team. The Vibration Specialist will start out collecting vibration data and learning analysis techniques, and will with time and training, graduate to the advanced diagnostic services. Those services will eventually include but are not limited to operating deflection shapes, structural resonance testing, amplified motion video, acceptance testing, and multi-plane balancing. This is a remote position which requires a self-driven and motivated individual who can independently manage accounts.
Responsibilities
- The Vibration Specialist will be responsible for providing predictive maintenance (PdM) services to company clients
- Collect and analyze vibration data on motors, fans, compressors, blowers, agitators, gearboxes, generators, and any other rotating device in various industries
- Responsible for equipment walk down and information gathering.
- Reports results in a clear concise manner following all company procedures for content.
- The Vibration Specialist will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all company, client, OSHA, and other applicable safety standards and is expected to be a technical resource to the client and employees in the troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Coordinate activities, schedule work, and prepare necessary technical reports
Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience in problem solving rotating equipment issues
- Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Windows, Word, and Excel
- Able and willing to work on-call and off shift as required by customers or management.
- Working knowledge of routine and advanced data acquisition techniques.
Skills
- Great communication skills, both oral and written
- Able to work well independently
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
Education
- Must have ASNT-TC1A Level 1 Certification (or equivalent) in Vibration Analysis; Level 1 Certification (or equivalent experience) in a secondary technology (thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic, motor circuit testing, etc.)
- High school graduate or equivalent. Technical Degree preferred.
