If you are an experienced veterinary nurse looking to develop your career, the Ophthalmology Team at Mass Vet Referral Hospital is the perfect place to grow! About Our Team: We are a busy, two-doctor service with dedicated resources including: five veterinary technicians, one tech liaison, three vet assistants and one concierge. The technicians are primarily responsible for obtaining patient histories, completing ophthalmic tests and procedures, drawing and submitting laboratory samples and providing client education. On the days we are not seeing appointments we are completing a variety of ophthalmic surgeries. About the Hospital: Mass Vet is located between two major highways in Woburn, Massachusetts, which is easily accessible from Southern New Hampshire and the surrounding Boston areas. We are a large facility with Emergency, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Surgery, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology and Ophthalmology. We also have an onsite reference lab and compounding pharmacy. About You: Above all else, a positive attitude, great communication, commitment to patient care and teamwork are critical to the Ophthalmology Team. From a technical standpoint we are looking for someone with a solid technical background. Experience with anesthesia is not required but if you have an interest we would love to teach you! What Makes Us Different? Our organization focuses on excellent patient care and employee satisfaction. We have centralized services in place to support the clinical staff, including in-house lab assistants to process and run samples, kennel attendants to maintain a clean, organized environment for patient care, centralized pharmacy services and a dedicated Anesthesia team to provide gold standard anesthetic support to our teams. We also have a full-time clinical social worker available onsite to provide support for our team members. Love to learn? Mass Vet is committed to continuing education and development. We continuously offer programs for veterinary assistants, entry-level technicians, introduction to anesthesia and an anesthesia VTS internship program. These courses are taught by experienced VTS credentialed technicians on-site and include paid classroom and clinical rotation time. We offer competitive salaries based on education, knowledge and skill set. Our employee benefits start on your first day and include a variety of health insurance plans, vision, dental, disability, life, health spending accounts, employee referral program and 401K contributions. We also offer three weeks of paid time off, uniform allowances, a community fund, generous continuing education reimbursement and an employee pet discount.
