Work Schedule:
  • 3-shift operation: Manufacturing of products on day and afternoon shifts; Sanitation - midnight shift

Plant Overview:

The Kraft Heinz Massillon factory is engaged in the manufacture of frozen food products- most particularly- frozen dinner entrees- spinach dip- and kids’ meal under the brand name of Smart Ones- Smart Made- Devour- Kraft- TGI Fridays and Crave. All items produced are frozen and under strict supervision of FDA- ODA- two (2) on-site federal USDA inspectors- and company quality inspectors. The Massillon- Ohio factory currently employs approximately 370 salaried- non-union hourly and union hourly employees. The Union hourly workers are represented by Local 17A of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union.

The factory currently operates production lines on day and afternoon shifts. The midnight shift is dedicated to sanitation- maintenance and warehouse; disassembling- cleaning- completely sanitizing all production lines and equipment- and reassembling them in preparation for the next day’s production operation. All products are micro-tested in the on-site Quality Assurance Laboratory. The products manufactured at the Massillon factory are distributed throughout the United States and Canada through retail and warehouse club outlets.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Participate/support the RMP (Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
  • Shift technician for utilities and infrastructure maintenance
  • Maintain completion of PM’s
  • Work with outside contractors on projects related to facilities and utilities repairs- modifications- and installations.
  • Follow up with skilled staff and contract labor to ensure all work is scheduled- and completed according to established timelines
  • Provide proactive communication and viable solutions to site departments and other functional management about problems and complications
  • Maintain compliance with company policies- safety standards and good housekeeping practices
  • Work within the scope of Environmental- Health- and Safety (EHS) program and compliance
  • Evaluate and discuss changes with the Facility Utilities Supervisor and implement changes as needed
  • Training and Safety – Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Kraft Heinz Safety Process. Oversee safety processes including- but not limited to- goal setting- hazard recognition- and elimination- administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action- area inspection- job skills- and compliance training- accident investigation and safety meetings.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; days- afternoons- midnights- overtime and weekends as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Two-year degree or certificate from college or technical school or minimum 2 years’ school and experience combined in dedicated industrial Utilities Maintenance- Ammonia Refrigeration- Boilers- Waste Water- and Air Compressors principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ammonia Operator/HAZWOPER certification highly desirable
  • Electrical power distribution
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience highly desirable- HC HVAC at a minimum.
  • Compressed air

  • HVAC including air filtration
  • Building infrastructure- piping- and drains
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks and projects

  • Demonstrated ability to understand the technical details of utility systems
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to problems and system failures
  • Demonstrated ability to sequence tasks to accomplish work
  • Communication with site departments leaders and management about utility problems and complications
  • Self-starter. Plans and accomplishes work with minimal supervision
  • Highly resilient to varying workloads and requests for service
  • Highly motivated to find solutions that improve utilities and facilities
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; days- afternoons- midnights- and weekend work.
  • Detail and process oriented.
  • Ability to stand- walk- sit- climb- balance- stoop- kneel- crouch and crawl.
  • Ability to use hands/arms to reach- handle- or feel objects- tools or controls.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the facility including hot and cold areas and be exposed to wet and humid conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Must have excellent vision- distant and peripheral- with the ability to identify and distinguish colors- and adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually high- and ear protection is required.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts- high and/or confining places and in outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the facility including hot and cold areas and be exposed to wet and humid conditions.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; days- afternoons- midnights- overtime and weekends as necessary.
