Our conveniently located boutique urgent care in the East Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan is currently seeking an experienced Full-Time dynamic and energetic Urgent Care Physician Assistant. The office offers a full spectrum of urgent care services.

The Physician Assistants responsibility include examining and diagnosing patients, prescribing medicines, and ordering diagnostic tests as needed. The Physician Assistant will work under the supervision of the physician with access to consult with physicians when necessary.

Responsibilities And Duties:

  • Perform physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.
  • Select, order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays as appropriate in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients in collaboration with supervising physician as appropriate.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Refers patient to PCP or specialist as appropriate.
  • Document notes in EMR system, prepare reports, maintain records, and related correspondence of work.
  • IV placement skill preferred.
  • Ensures clinical practice compliance with Managed Care/HMO, Federal and State guidelines, facility guidelines, the Department of Health, and all other governmental agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Current license to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Two years clinical experience in an urgent care setting, emergency room or family practice office preferred.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • DEA license with no restrictions.

Compensation:

  • Annual salary $180,000.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of medical coding.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of urgent care medicine.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of occupational health medicine.

Skills:

  • Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email, Microsoft Office and EMR software.
  • Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff and the public effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising.
