Urgent Care Clinic Director – The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the Department of Stomatology, Division of Diagnostic Sciences & Services. The primary responsibilities of this position will be in the didactic teaching and clinical training of pre-doctoral dental students in the management of patients presenting for care in a new Urgent Care Clinic. The candidate will continuously enhance our Urgent Care Clinic to ensure its community responsiveness and create innovative clinical training experiences for our students. An academic focus is expected and can be developed in any number of areas across school programs and strengths.

Qualified candidates must have a DMD or DDS degree with preference going to individuals who have completed either a hospital-based general practice residency, or advanced education in general dentistry program. Experience working with safety net dental clinics such as community health centers, free clinics, or similar urgent care programs is desired.

Successful applicants should have a South Carolina dental license or qualify for a teaching license. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Participation in the College’s Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is encouraged. This position is eligible for faculty loan repayment through a federal grant funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
