Position Description
Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions
Essential Job Functions

Supervision
Direct, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of three Senior Analysts.
Provide indirect supervision to one student assistant.
Contribute to and monitor the professional development of assigned staff.
Conduct one on one meetings with assigned staff.
Contribute to the development and implementation of institutional and departmental policies and procedures as it relates to staff supervision.

Personnel Administration
Manage, review, monitor and retain all daily onboarding, offboarding and administrative area functions.
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding functions for assigned areas.
Communicate with appropriate stakeholders regarding area functions.
Manage and coordinate payroll and subsequent paperwork for the area and assigned department(s).
Manage daily administrative requests and paperwork.
Prepare and maintain accurate reports and assist with projects as assigned.
Assist with the implementation of staff orientation.
Assist with the development and implementation of departmental and university policies and procedures.

Recruitment
Assist with all administrative aspects of staff recruitment.
Coordinate travel and complete subsequent paperwork for out-of-town candidates.
Prepare accurate reports and files and assist with recruitment related projects as assigned.
Communicate with invested stakeholders as it relates to recruitment efforts.
Manage all requisitions using Kenexa/Brassring.
Assist the Section Manager with the coordination of search processes.

Communication, Customer Service and Support

Provide excellent internal and external customer service via phone, email and in person.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff and provide necessary follow-up.
Resolve staff issues quickly and efficiently.
Seek potential problem areas and work to find solutions to prevent delays in personnel processes.
Coordinate department employee engagement and recognition programs as assigned.
Assist with department-wide events and initiatives.
Assist with special projects as requested by internal and external departments.
Serve as the Personnel Office representative for the Disney Think Tank in two-year terms

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications
The Unit Manager must have the ability to work in a high-performing customer-service environment. They must be able to practice acute attention to detail, complete tasks quickly and efficiently, remain organized, and work with multiple projects, tasks and deadlines simultaneously. The Unit Manager must be able to practice problem solving and critical thinking daily, work on a close team, and utilize various technology programs to complete assigned work. The Unit Manager must have experience supervising full-time professional staff.

Three to five years of experience working within a payroll and/or human resources related role. Experience working with ePAFs, EOPS, Microsoft Teams, Staff Recruitment and Cognos. Experience with high-level customer service environment.

Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required.
