The Co-Ed Adolescent Mood Disorder Unit is for the multi-disciplinary assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and stabilization of adolescent female and male patients. Discharge planning emphasizes movement to day hospital or outpatient care as soon as the crisis has been stabilized.
As a Unit Manager you will:
- Provides 24-hour, 7 day per week operational management of co-ed adolescent inpatient unit.
- Maintains a strong physical presence on the unit to ensure the quality of care and provide additional training and support for new staff.
- Responsible for the provision of clinical services that are based on an understanding of the needs of mentally ill children and/or adolescents.
- Supervises nursing and support staff.
- Utilizes clinical expertise in the delivery of direct patient care, consultative activities, staff development, and treatment planning.
- Manages program expense budget.
- Maintains clinical environment and staffing strategy that enable program to maintain or exceed budgeted census; is proactive and responsive to changes in patient acuity and census and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment of care.
Requires:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program and at least 3 years of progressively more responsible nursing experience, inpatient psychiatric experience preferred. Individuals without a bachelor's degree may be considered if they have completed an Associate’s degree and have at least 5 years of nursing experience, inpatient psychiatric nursing preferred.
