POSITION SUMMARY:- Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Unit Clerk is responsible for performing and organizing the clerical activities necessary to maintain the medical record, ordering of office and medical supplies, and the coordination of on-going activities within the assigned unit. Under the direction of the Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor the role of Unit Clerk is responsible for assisting in assigning and placing patients in appropriate rooms.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/License/Certification:- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have completed the Skills Lab and fundamentals of bedside care portion of their RN Program OR Have C.N.A. patient experience in a healthcare facility for six (6) months and have a current and active C.N.A. License from the State of California.
Experience/Skills:- Must have basic understanding of Medical Terminology
- Must have and maintain current BLS Certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.
