Job Summary

Provides direct support to research technician and graduate students conducting large-scale experiments by setting up experiments, collecting data, operating equipment, performing manual labor, and maintaining facility grounds.

Essential Functions

Assist with setting up, installing, and conducting all large-scale experimental tests related to active erosion/sediment control research.

Collect pre, during, and post experimental data for all tests performed.

Perform laboratory analyses of water quality samples taken during experimental tests.

Assist with maintaining all testing equipment and facility grounds.



Minimum Qualifications

Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs.

Student must have a personal vehicle to provide transportation to the AU-ESCTF located at 1600 Lee Road 151, Opelika, AL 36804 (about 25 minutes from campus).

Must be enrolled and taking classes during the semester of employment; or, if not enrolled in classes for the semester of employment, must have been enrolled in the previous semester and will be enrolled and have a class schedule for the following semester (this includes the summer semester).



Preferred Qualifications

Ability to operate light equipment and machinery. Be able to work for at least a 3 to 4-hour period on a given day between the hours of 7:45 AM and 4:45 PM. A schedule can be developed based upon your availability as needed. We are looking for dependable, hardworking, self-motivated individuals.



Pay Rate $8.00/hour
Work Hours 10 to 20 hours per week
