Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Technol, Ultrasound (Reg) MFM.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing diagnostic examinations using sonography. The Ultrasound Technologist may be responsible depending on work location for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, reports of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase their level of understanding & knowledge of the field, disease(s), and new procedures as they evolve.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operates Ultrasound equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body area parts as ordered. Produces diagnostic images for interpretation by physician. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Ultrasound equipment.
  • Quality review of the technologist's image's fall within guidelines of the department's SOP.
  • Responsible for performing high level disinfection for compliance across all Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) locations.
  • Accurately utilizes the PACS system to make images available to the physician for interpretation. Technologist creates a minimum number of exceptions.
  • Accurately utilizes systems. Enters proper exam coding. Arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion.
  • Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
  • Instructs and supervises ultrasound students in a clinical practicum. Works with the ultrasound student to perform exams as well as performing individual image evaluation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Technical diploma from an accredited 2 year ultrasound program required. Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Ob/Gyn required. Certification for Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone from Nuchal Translucency Quality Review within 12 months of hire required. Thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment required. Strong written and oral communication required. Excellent analytical problem solving skills required. Exemplary customer service skills required. Advanced computer skills required.


Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Fetal Echocardiography Preferred. 3-5 years experience as an Ob/Gyn Ultrasound Technologist Preferred. Knowledge of EPIC EHR and ASOB ultrasound reporting system Preferred.
