The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for providing technical/clinical support, including operating ultrasound equipment through knowledge and expertise to produce ultrasonic imaging of internal organs for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Educate patient, family, or provider to the extent and detail of each san
  • Prepare patient for exam by explaining procedure
  • Administer correct exam to patient, consulting with provider as necessary
  • Maintain necessary supplies by checking inventory, anticipating future needs, placing supply orders, and verifying delivery of ordered supplies
  • Perform daily equipment inspections
  • EMR documentation (such as eCW)
  • May be responsible for American College of Radiology (ACR)/accreditation as appropriate per clinic site
  • Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation
  • May be responsible to oversee staffing, resources, and operations within the context of the ultrasound setting with the goal of providing excellent patient care
  • May be responsible to lead and mentor other Ultrasound Technologists, and serve as a point person to resolve ultrasound-specific issues
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Able to work independently and with a provider
  • Familiarize and comply with healthcare laws, regulations, and rules
  • Able to perform exams in at least two different specialty areas
  • Able to perform the most advanced ultrasound tasks, and serve as the subject matter expert within ultrasound specialty fields

QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum qualifications required for the job)

  • 1+ years of experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS) or must have one of the following current certifications:
  • Abdomen
  • Breast
  • OBGYN
  • Muscular Skeletal
  • Pediatrics
  • Vascular
  • Echocardiography
  • Nuchal Translucency
  • Cervical Length Education and Review (CLEAR)
  • Current BLS preferred, and may be required at certain clinic locations
