JOB FUNCTIONS
- Under the general direction of the Infusion &Imaging Manager, with the clinical supervision of the Radiologist, perform examinations of patients of ages 13 or above for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.
- Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient.
- Explain ultrasound procedures to patients so they feel comfortable with the experience
- Calibrate, maintain and control all ultrasound equipment
- Perform ultrasounds on 10-15 patients per day, on average
- Take sonogram still images and video for physician and patient
- Notify Physicians of any abnormalities or concerns immediately
- Chart ultrasound results when required
- Soothe and reassure nervous or anxious patients
- See patients on time and reschedule patients as necessary
- Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the coach and during the exam.
- Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
- Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
- Provide images to the facility and patient in the desired site format.
- Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
- May assist with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines.
- Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach/facility.
- Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.e.: timesheet, medical records request, review supply inventory, request supplies from Manager, organize supplies upon arrival, QA, etc.
- Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
- Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
- Performs additional duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program
- High School graduate or equivalent
- At least 3 years of ultrasound experience
- Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a permit to practice where applicable.
- Ultrasound Tech experience required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Must be abdomen certified
- GI experience a plus

- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.

- Must be able to interact with client personnel and SMS team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner.
