UI/UX Designer / Product Owner - LOCATION TYLER, TX
Exciting opportunity and role for that candidate looking to continue to be that world class UI/UX subject matter expert and a Product Owner. The Product Owner will take responsibility for executing the product roadmap, working closely with our talented Engineering team to evolve the platform based on customer feedback and market needs.
We want someone who’s passionate about Agile and has a proven track record of bringing products and features to market. You will transform ideas into detailed user stories and specifications. Additionally, we need a great communicator who can work equally well with the Engineering and the customer account teams to successfully drive our leading-edge solution forward.
Primary responsibilities:
- Work closely with the product team to translate high-level requirements into detailed user flows, and personas
- Work with engineering as the owner of UX requirements and be able to answer questions or address concerns
- Develop the overall layout for developer web consoles
- Quickly and iteratively create user flows, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications.
- Use storyboarding, task analysis, competitive analysis, card sorting, and other user research tasks to capture and design for user requirements.
- Excellent concept, digital creative strategy, design, layout, color, composition, brand, UI/UX, typography, and communication skills.
- Follow an agile process and participate in daily scrums, planning, and design reviews
- Be an advocate for visual, functional and interaction flow consistency with an awareness of when to apply our standards vs moments to add to or evolve those guidelines
- Deliver of design artifacts for web, mobile, and PC applications.
- Measure the effectiveness of features and content and drive continuous improvement
- Conduct research using a wide range of research methods - remote and in person, unmoderated research, surveys, diary studies and ethnography
- Craft a pixel perfect component library and design system from scratch
- Demonstrate exceptional design thinking and produce designs that illustrate optimal user experiences
- Work in Jira, and/or Confluence environment
Secondary responsibilities:
- Create stories, epics, and themes and ensure work priorities are aligned with product strategies to deliver maximum user value.
- Take personal accountability for ensuring that team actions and backlog are consistently and fully aligned to the technical needs, strategic needs, and objectives of the business and/or client(s).
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure backlog (tickets and Epics) contain the necessary detail to ensure efficient prioritization, coding, testing, and client validation.
- Regularly prioritize, monitor, and track progress of the team backlog and commitments against targets, communicating this with the team to manage expectations and suggest additional support when needed.
- Gather additional insight directly from the client and other external sources of expert information to offer unique and current perspectives on the overall product vision and backlog.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in interactive design, designing and shipping desktop or mobile applications.
- 2+ years experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, or in a related field (SaaS environment would be great).
- Experienced in assisting Scrum Master with scrum meetings and sprint reviews
Familiar with both backend and frontend development
- Expert level understanding of information architecture, interaction design, user experience, and visual design.
- Proficiency with visual design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, etc) and pre-visualization/prototyping tools (InVision, Adobe Xd, etc)
- A portfolio demonstrating well thought through and polished end to end customer journeys, UX and UI designs
- Experience working to implement UI design across multi-platform needs.
- Experience building and maintaining a design library & component system
- Ability to quickly turn around wireframes and mockups and other communication artifacts in an agile, iterative startup environment
Plus Experience
- Designing for Marketplaces or E-Commerce flows is a plus.
