The Village School of Naples is now accepting resumes for a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for an Upper School English/French classroom beginning March, 2021 through May, 2021. The Village School values inquiry-based, student-centered learning aimed to empower and inspire students to create solutions to challenges faced in an ever-changing world. The long-term substitute teacher would be responsible for teaching French and AP / High School English language courses ranging from 9th-12th grade. The job of the long-term substitute teacher is best described as supervising the education of the students during the time the classroom teacher is on leave. Candidates should be prepared to create a warm and inviting classroom environment. They are responsible for executing lesson plans in the classroom and should be prepared to create lesson plans should the need arise. Enforcing classroom and school rules, observing and evaluating student performance, communicating with parents, collaborating with colleagues, utilizing interactive technology, and grading homework, classwork, and assessments are other vital aspects of the job.
