Job Summary
Drives sales through General Agent distribution channels by identifying, developing and supporting partners; monitoring results; increasing sales; maximizing revenues. Develop/enhance relationships with GA and their associated agents with the goal of increasing profitable membership growth. Manage resolution of complex account and business issues in collaboration with sales and sales support staff and other functions within Florida Blue when appropriate. Manage time, territory, budget and administrative requirements by effectively planning and carrying out plans to ensure that support activities are achieved at reasonable cost.
Essential Functions
- Management and attainment of membership production through GA channel (health and ancillary)
- Oversight and accountability for new sales gain and retention of membership
- Educate and monitor compliance of agencies regarding Florida Blue sales process, policies and procedures.
- Manage systematic process for providing weekly/monthly agency production results to GAs (submissions, dispositioning leads, membership, etc.). Provide executive overview of agency results by segment and their impact to the organization.
- Evaluate annual business plans from current GA for adequacy and ability to produce required membership results.
- Perform training sessions for newly appointed agents as well as refresher training sessions for existing agents as needed, working with Corporate Training resources.
Required Work Experience
- 5+ years related work experience in channel management experience; consultative selling experience
- Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
- Extensive knowledge of Florida Blue Value Proposition
- Expertise in Individual / Group Segments
- Knowledge of Alternative Funding/ASO business and competitive offerings
- Extensive knowledge of HCR and impacts on Group Business
- Expertise in the Group Modeling Tool
- Experience working in the health insurance industry
- Skillsoft knowledge
- Experience with strong training and selling skills
- Experience with agencies in the group space
- 215 Health and Life Insurance license (90 days to complete)
- Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills
- Experience working with multi-functional work group
- 50% travel within the state of Florida
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Florida Blue policies and procedures to effectively manage and coordinate assigned contracted general agency sales and service personnel
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences). Frequently May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions of cold, heat, wet, and humidity.
