The University of Colorado Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension and the Colorado Center for Transplantation Care, Research and Education (CCTCARE) is recruiting a dynamic, fellowship-trained and board-certified transplant nephrologist to join our expanding practice in a multidisciplinary program. The successful applicant would be able to work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, coordinators, APPs, pharmacists and social workers. The University of Colorado Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension and the CCTCARE are known for their leadership in cutting edge transplant research, multidisciplinary team approach to patient care, post-graduate education, innovative approaches to patient care, and collaboration. The successful candidate will have completed training in Nephrology with further specific training in Transplant Nephrology. Research engagement in diverse areas is also highly sought after; such as clinical trials, utilization of artificial intelligence or big data, equitable care or any other research program related to transplant nephrology. Educational engagement includes teaching and mentoring medical students through fellows. The candidate will report to the Executive Director and Medical Director of the Colorado Center for Transplantation Care, Research and Education (CCTCARE) and Division Head of Renal Diseases and Hypertension.

Supervision Exercised

Physicians, APPs and nurses of the Kidney Transplant Program.

Examples of Work Performed

All phases of kidney transplantation including review of patient’s referrals, pre-transplants initial visits and transplant evaluation, directing the recipient selection meeting, perioperative management of new kidney transplant recipients and management of the kidney transplant inpatient service. Candidate will also take donor calls and will be responsible for helping to train organ procurement coordinators and assisting OPO with kidney donor policies and management protocols.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in Kidney Transplantation

Excellent communication skills to interface with learners, faculty, healthcare teams, administrators, community organizations and donors.

Knowledge of UNOS regulations and site visits.


Salary Range

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at :

Assistant Professor: $180,000 to $220,000, plus a 10% annual incentive bonus.

Associate Professor: $240,000 to $275,000, plus a 10% annual incentive bonus.

Professor: $290,000 to $340,000, plus a 10% annual incentive bonus.


The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Minimum Qualifications Assistant Professor:

MD or DO degree

Board Certification in Nephrology is required.

Fellowship training in Kidney Transplantation.

Desired Qualifications

UNOS eligibility or certification.

Minimum Qualifications Associate Professor:

MD or DO degree

Board Certification in Nephrology is required.

Fellowship training in Kidney Transplantation with at least five years of experience post-fellowship.

Desired Qualifications

UNOS eligibility or certification.
