Title Assistant I Under general supervision includes the following title responsibilities. Or Title Assistant II Under limited supervision interprets and acts on instructions from customers and title officers. Or Title Assistant III Proficient as Title Assistant I and II. Under limited supervision interprets and acts on instructions from customers and title officers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Title Assistant I 1. Customer service, posting, courthouse recorder, order entry, production typing, and file preparation. 2. Performs various clerical duties as described above that conform to established work procedures. 3. Ability to follow specific instructions on assignments. 4. Will operate office machines such as copier, calculator, fax machine, reader/printer, or other similar equipment. 5. May complete deliveries. 6. May conduct inspections, posting, and locator duties 7. May conduct typist or escrow assistant duties. 8. Physical presence in the work location – branch or department. 9. Consistently works as part of a team (locally and/or remotely) and must have the ability to interact with others in a professional and respective manner. 10. Support and alignment with Company Core Values; service, integrity, teamwork, trust & respect, accountability and profitability. 11. Works overtime as required to meet the business needs. 12. Consistently works pre-established work schedule. 13. Participates in cross training to meet the business strategies. Or Title Assistant II 12. Searches, examines and interprets real estate documents such as deeds, deeds of trust, assignments, and reconveyances, subdivision maps, assessors parcel maps, moderately complex metes and bounds legal descriptions, section land and lot and block from direct base working directly with the title officer. 2. No signing authority. 3. Within limits of own authority, resolves whether general index items are to be included in evidence of title, assists in training Employees in junior title assistant positions. 4. High degree of accuracy and dependability coupled with strong customer service attitude is required. 8. May also include special technical duties such as establishing and maintaining builder indemnity files and proficiency in builder approval criteria. 9. Physical presence in the work location – branch or department. 10. Consistently works as part of a team (locally and/or remotely) and must have the ability to interact with others in a professional and respective manner. 11. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Title Assistant I Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Entry level position. No previous work experience required. Ability to pass the appropriate assessment, where applicable. Skills: Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills. 50 wpm typing and basic computers skills may be necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with others. Other: Understanding and commitment to total quality, unsurpassed customer service and teamwork. Enthusiastic teamwork attitude. Or Title Assistant II Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Successful experience with Title Assistant I duties and generally has two years experience in the title industry. Ability to pass appropriate assessment, where applicable. Skills: Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills. 50 wpm typing and basic computers skills may be necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with others. Other: Understanding and commitment to total quality, unsurpassed customer service and teamwork. Enthusiastic teamwork attitude. Or Title Assistant III Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Experienced level position. Successful experiences as Title Assistant I and II duties and generally has a minimum of three years’ experience in the title industry. Ability to pass appropriate assessment, where applicable. Skills: Basic writing and arithmetic skills and advanced reading comprehension skills. 50 wpm typing and basic computers skills may be necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability in making sound title matter judgements with minimal supervision. Ability to interact with others.
