Our outpatient treatment services offer supportive and compassionate care for the entire life span through specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our clients. Next STEPS Worldwide firmly believes in the multi-disciplinary team approach within an outpatient office setting. Our team consists of licensed psychologists, therapists, dietitians, and provider support specialists who collaborate regularly to offer the highest level of client care possible.

The psychologist in this role has the responsibility to provide specialized testing for clients presenting problems may include depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, ADHD, OCD, and trauma. The psychologist in this role should be able to provide psychological services that incorporate a variety of models including supportive, cognitive-behavioral, exploratory-interpretive, or educational.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to conduct and supervise psychological testing and write comprehensive psychological reports.
  • Provides clinical services including individual psychotherapy 3 times per week, family therapy assigned as a family therapist 1-2 times per week, and co-leads groups.

  • Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice
  • Ability to comply with clinic documentation standards

Clinical Services 80%:

  • Provides individual face-to-face and telehealth, psychological assessment, consultation, intake, and crisis interventions.
  • Prepares for sessions and maintain accurately and up-to-date records of clinical services, and if interested, provide couples therapy and group therapy.

Training Services 15%

  • When possible, provide individual and group clinical supervision and training of doctoral-level trainees and undergraduate paraprofessionals.
  • Reviews supervisees' clinical paperwork and session recordings.
  • Evaluates supervisees and provide meaningful feedback, letters of recommendation, and training seminars.

Outreach Services 5%

  • Prepares for and provide outreach presentations and workshops.
  • Fosters relationships with assigned liaisons and attend consultations with colleagues.

Other Professional Responsibilities

  • Practices all responsibilities in accordance with ethical and professional standards and state laws.
  • Effectively participates in administrative and professional activities (e.g., staff and division meetings, case consultations, peer consultations, professional development, etc.).
  • Fosters excellent working relationships with co-workers, increase knowledge, and develop new skills or abilities that contribute to effective service provision, contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the organization, and all other duties as assigned.
  • Experience in providing relevant psycho-educational workshops based on the needs of the community.
  • Experience and interest in conducting group therapy.
  • Experience with teaching and program development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and from an APA accredited training program, completion of an APA-accredited internship, and an ability to be licensed in the state of Texas.
  • Unrestricted license as a psychologist in Texas
  • Evidence of formal, doctoral-level coursework in clinical supervision
  • At least 2 years providing clinical supervision (preferred)
  • Experience in a counseling setting and/or experience in areas strongly related to mental health needs with populations (e.g., eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders).
  • Generalist base of knowledge and experience in psychotherapy (including telehealth therapy), (i.e., theories, processes, and elements of therapeutic change) and familiarity with developmental and other non-medical models of treatment and supervision.
  • Experience with psychoeducational assessment treatment models.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, community, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.
  • Ability to work and coordinate with a small group of clinicians and to work effectively as an independent self-motivated, professional staff member.
