We are seeking a Teller to provide excellent customer service to customers at our Springfield, IL branch. This position will provide existing and potential customers with a variety of services, including processing banking transactions, opening business and personal accounts, establishing certificates of deposit, and administering lock box transactions. This position is also accountable for promoting the benefits, features and practical usage of our banking products and services to existing and potential customers.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Executes customer transactions including opening new checking and business accounts, opening certificates of deposits, IRAs, and HSAs, closing accounts, and executing related products and services transactions.
  • Answers customer questions, assists with customer requests, researches account issues, and resolves issues and problems.
  • Posts transactions, pays out funds, verifies cash, and performs other duties related to executing customer transactions.
  • Identifies counterfeit currency.
  • Promotes and cross-sells bank products and services.
  • Executes branch opening and closing and duties related to these activities.
  • Executes cash and coin maintenance activities.
  • Balances cash drawer daily.
  • Prepares miscellaneous reports and paperwork and conducts audits as necessary.
  • Attends Branch meetings and scheduled meetings for bank wide participation.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Relationships:

  • Responsible to the Teller Supervisor for the fulfillment of the functions and responsibilities.
  • Will have extensive contact with customers, the public, and the community and is to conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.
  • Will be called upon form time to time to participate with community organizations and in community projects.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-6 months of related experience/exposure within the banking industry preferred
  • Demonstrates aptitude for mathematical and/or financial transactions
  • Demonstrates ability to execute day to day work under direct supervision
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills (customer-oriented)
  • Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multi-task daily job duties
  • Demonstrates ability to address basic job related/technical issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong team collaboration/team work skills, with ability to work in diverse teams and build/maintain positive working relationships
  • Demonstrates ability to interact efficiently with banking software, as well as utilize common office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications; willingness to learn new technologies
  • Demonstrates problems solving skills


Work Environment:

Business office setting with low noise level. This position is required to travel to other branches both inside and outside the Quincy, IL area on a regular basis.
