Job Summary
Assists District Administrators in planning, directing, coordinating, overseeing, and monitoring District school health programs, nursing services, data gathering, reporting and analysis.
Essential Functions
1. Develops and maintain staffing schedules for school-based nurses in the event of scheduled or emergency absences and/or field trips.
2. Coordinates the daily assignment of nurses assigned to District ESE Nurse Office and contract nurses filling in for absent nurses assigned to schools.
3. Inspects records maintained by school nurses to determine compliance with prescribed regulations and takes required action on non-compliance.
4. Coordinates and participates in the review and implementation of health care services to include inspection of school clinics for conformance with state and local regulations.
5. Functions as liaison between school-based nurses, administrators, district staff and parents to promote independent functioning of the school nurse, and provide mediation when necessary.
6. Documents and monitors licensure of school nurses.
7. Researches and reviews new, revised and proposed federal, state, and local laws and regulations and current professional practice and procedures related to school nursing services, and provides this information to school nurses through in-service workshops and training.
8. Analyzes contract nursing services and costs and make recommendations based on the cost analysis and compiles other data for applicable records, files, and reports.
9. Monitors and reviews the work of assigned employees to ensure follow-up of referrals and health counseling have been appropriately performed.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience: One (1) year successful employment in business, a government entity or public school district preferred.

Knowledge of FOCUS required, SAP preferred
