Technical Expert, Underground Drill Maintenance Details

Support related parties to monitor, review, evaluate, and analyze assigned machinery and equipment repair and maintenance in Mine Maintenance Department also to provide broad and deep recommendation for all relevant maintenance activities (i.e. rationalization, trials, modification, etc.), ensure the availability of equipment as per operation requirements, so that company target (safety, production and cost effectiveness) can be met.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Conduct and review daily physical inspection, monitoring and controlling of equipment and machines used for operation to ensure safety procedures are carried out.

2. Conduct and review daily services and organizing backlogs for machinery repair/maintenance and spare parts to ensure machinery availability operations and production department requirements.

3. Conduct, review and analyze a fault diagnostic for all repairs and maintenance and develop systems, improvement, and/or process on predictive maintenance program and align it with “On the Job Training” in order to provide a proper and continuous handling of machinery problems as well as to ensure application of preventive maintenance.

4. Provide technical instructional support to national staff & non staff for relevant maintenance activities as a guidance to ensure all works are comply with international standard, completed in a safe manner, within budget, and on schedule.

5. Perform daily reporting of assigned equipment repair and maintenance activities to ensure that the status of equipment is up to date, and that the backlog of equipment repairs/maintenance is not delayed.

6. Review and analyze weekly maintenance plan, i.e., schedules, machinery usage and repairs, and maintenance backlogs and manning issues, to ensure that proper maintenance is carried out.

7. Plan, perform and control a monthly machinery review including reviews of safety and machinery availability to reach targets.

8. Review special project progress (i.e., shop safety improvement project, ten major problem recommendation projects, etc.) to ensure the achievement of project’s objectives according to company policies and procedures.

9. Train, develop, coach, and motivate Mechanics to an acceptable high standard to enhance their skill, knowledge, and capability and develop written program to transfer knowledge and technology to national employees, to improve the national employee's capabilities so that there would be less need for expatriate expertise.

10. Present professional advice/recommendation in leadership and/or supervisory role (i.e., manpower management, work arrangement, job assignment), to promote supervisory skill of national staff.

11. Guide, monitor and control the implementation of safety standards and procedures within work area to minimize accidents and damage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mining or closely related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in underground mine maintenance -OR- Post Trade School with minimum of five (5) years’ experience in underground mine maintenance focused on underground drills (mainly Sandvik) and mechanical/electrical/structural maintenance -OR- High School Diploma with ten (10) years’ experience in underground mine maintenance focused on underground drills (mainly Sandvik) and mechanical/electrical/structural maintenance.

  • Computer literacy for diagnostic purposes.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
  • Experience in dealing with cultural diversity.
  • Leadership and supervisory skill.
  • Sound analytical and synthesis skill, including problem analysis, cost, and financial analysis.
  • Sound decision-making skill.
  • Other PTFI mandatory competencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade certificate.
  • Remote technology training.
  • Preferred experience operating/maintaining: Axera 5,6,7 and 8 drills, DS421 Cabolter, DL431 Solos.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
