Teaching & Learning Temp Pool: Play and Playwork - Practice and Provision Details

The Department of Teaching and Learning invites applications to fill a temporary instructor position for the course* PROFSTUD 330 - Play and Playwork - Practice and Provision*.

Examples of Duties: The principal activity of this specialized faculty member consists of teaching candidates
the role of the playworker in relation to playwork provision and practice; a range of play
theories and explain their relevance to children and their play; the range of provision for
children’s play, assess its appropriateness, and make judgements on theoretical understandings of quality provision; how play promotes behavioral flexibility; a range of appropriate play activities for children across different stages of development; and to observe and practice required playwork competencies in and approved agency.
Qualifying Experience / Education: Required:

  • Hold current playwork credential
  • Hold an advanced degree in Playwork or related area
  • Minimum of 5 years of higher education teaching Playwork subject matter in a Playwork academic program
  • Playwork field experience and practicum supervisory experience

  • Doctoral Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years full-time experience as a playworker
  • Demonstrated experience in professional service to the Playwork Foundation
