Job Summary:

Responsible for the general supervision and management of fifteen to twenty children between the ages of two and five.

Responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to the following:

  • Plan, supervise, and implement classroom program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of TCC.
  • Plan a class program to meet the needs of individual children with concerns for their interests, handicaps, special talents, individual style and pace of learning, cultural and socioeconomic background.
  • Help children to become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
  • Be responsible for the arrangement, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom. Help assistant teacher in setting up interest centers and preparing needed material and supplies.
  • Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of classroom and TCC
  • Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the school at all times.
  • Attend all staff meetings, and lead teacher meetings. May be able to observe one preschool/day care center each year, upon Director’s approval. Teachers must also maintain 12 clock hours of Continuing Education each calendar year.
  • Attend all special activities scheduled on the school calendar.
  • Establish positive communications with parents of the students.
  • Conduct two parent conferences: one pertaining to the child’s classroom adjustment in the fall and one in the spring covering the child’s progress during the year. Also, arrange individual conferences as needed.
  • Keep developmental records on each child.
  • Maintain classroom attendance records. Write weekly lesson plans, maintain regular communications with the parents about classroom activities and keep the parent bulletin board current.
  • Be responsible for making sure the Missouri Statutes for the Department of Health Rules for License-Exempt Child Care Facilities are followed in the classroom.
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect
  • Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the school at all times.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
