Employment Type : Full-Time

The teacher will serve as the full-time math teacher at St. Maria Goretti Catholic High School, a co-ed, secondary Catholic school located in Hagerstown, Maryland. Math teachers are responsible for implementing daily standard-based lessons to support students’ acquisition and application of relevant academic skills and concepts. This position is for the 2022-2023 school year beginning in August.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and document daily lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines.
• Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage and inspire students. Integrate the use of technology appropriately and effectively into the curriculum
• Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols.
• Establish reasonable standards for student achievement.
• Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Degree in mathematics
• MSDE certification with math endorsements or willingness to obtain
• Commitment to the mission of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
• Experience teaching at the high school level (Algebra I-Physics)
• Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to best-practice pedagogy in mathematic
