The Brockton Youth Career Readiness Project (BYCRP) is an innovative, career and technical education program for youth at-risk. BYCRPs main purpose will be to provide access to post-secondary college and career education and training to Brockton youth enrolled in three (3) of the districts alternative educational settings: Brockton Champion High School, Frederick Douglass Academy, and Edison Academy. Students will participate in Vocational coursework in Construction and/or Health Assisting by receiving 900 hours of Vocational education and participate in a 125-hour paid internship in their chosen field of study. Programs will run Monday-Thursday from 2:30-5:30pm.QUALIFICATIONS: Certification, and/or willingness to pursue certification, for Ch.
74 Construction and/or Health Assisting.Familiarity with Employability Forms and related documents.Familiarity with the employability market in the city of Brockton and surrounding areas.Familiarity with SkillsUSA and MyCap curriculum.Must be available to teach 2:30-5:30pm, Monday-Thursday for the 2021-2022 school year.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Instruct Vocational level courses in Construction and/or Health Assisting.Work closely with the BYCRP English Language Acquisition coach.Availability to work throughout school year and after school hours.Performs other duties as assigned by the BYCRP Coordinator.COMPENSATION: Contractual Rate (16 hours per week - 3 hours of instruction and 1 hour of prep per day)
