Working Conditions
Work is performed in a classroom, playground, and office environment. May be required to fill in as a substitute staff member at another program site. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand, sit on the floor, and be indoors or outdoors for extended periods. May have possible exposure to bodily fluids and infectious disease.
Teacher Assistant positions follow either a full or partial year schedule. The positions that follow a full-year schedule are typically comprised of 2088 hours annually. The partial-year schedule positions are typically comprised of 1,608 hours annually. Birth to Five site classrooms operates Monday through Friday. Selection ProcedureThe Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on relevant experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
