The Tax Credit & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining systems and processes for Silver Birch Living communities to maintain compliance with federal and state Housing Tax Income Credit regulations.

  • Ensures community level compliance with federal and state LIHTC regulations through the development of systems and processes, training, ongoing monitoring of community compliance, and maintaining a current working knowledge of regulations;
  • Represents Silver Birch Living by serving as the principal liaison with state regulators;
  • Ensures community level compliance with state reporting requirements;
  • Maintains record keeping systems and documentation templates for resident leases and related move-in documentation;
  • Identifies and implements processes efficiencies to create betterments on-site staff processes while maintaining compliance with state and federal LIHTC rules and Fair Housing Act laws;
  • Support communities during times of absence or leave of on-site Eligibility Coordinators with eligibility processing and lease signings
  • Maintains relationships with community staff to ensure ongoing compliance to SBL and regulatory standards, reports status of community compliance and performance to community and SBL leadership.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of experience with LIHTC compliance and systems
  • Familiarity with Boston Post compliance software, preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Tax Credit Specialist or similar certification is required
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of LIHTC Regulations, state agency reporting requirements, and Fair Housing Act regulations
  • Strong relationship building skills; ability to work collaboratively at all levels
  • Strong management and judgment skills including organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, web proficiency, and exposure to senior living specific software programs
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including overnight travel
