System Administrator II Details

Under the general supervision of the MSP Manager, the Systems Admin II is responsible for providing proactive remote and onsite technical support to users in an efficient and accurate manner. The Systems Admin II is responsible for taking on escalations from Systems Admin I technicians.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Able to perform all the Help Desk Tech’s responsibilities
  • Act as Systems Admin I Technician’s Escalation Point
  • Maintain and Work Remote Tickets on the IT Service Board
    • Server Application and Infrastructure Changes
    • Troubleshoot Server Application / Connectivity Issues
    • Router Configuration Updates
  • Maintain and Work Remote/Onsite Service Tickets on the IT Service Board
    • Prep and Deliver Servers to Clients
    • Troubleshoot Systems or Networking Outages that require an on-site presence
  • Maintain and Work Project Tickets with Assigned T3 Technical Resource
    • Email Migrations
    • New Server Infrastructures
    • Office Location Moves
    • Client Onboardings and Offboarding
    • VPN Creation and Implementation
  • Maintain Assigned Tickets on IT Service and Projects Board
    • Placing all your assigned tickets on your ConnectWise calendar for a future Time/Date and never leaving tickets in a Past Due state.
    • Attaching, creating, and updating relevant configurations with necessary client asset information
    • Being attentive to all client correspondence and notifying them daily about new developments of their service request.
    • Working and managing your assigned tickets until resolved and acquiring help to resolve if needed (Team Supervisor and/or T3 Escalation)
    • Resolving tickets within 6 hours total worked time and before 30 days of age


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A+, Network+, MCSE, MTA: Windows Server Administration Fundamentals
  • Strong networking knowledge
  • Strong proficiency in Windows Server and other cloud-based server environments (Azure, AWS, and WVD)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Email and Office Products
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
  • Efficient problem solving / troubleshooting skills
  • Energetic, pleasant and professional
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail in all things, neat and organized
  • Strong time management skills to complete multiple concurrent tasks/tickets in a timely manner.
  • Work as a proactive team member in an office setting
  • 3-5 years of experience in Help Desk or IT support position
  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent
