System Administrator Job Description

The system administrator / data center technician will split their time working remote at their home and working in our data center environment in Dallas. The system administrator will be responsible for providing technical support to our customer base via help desk and telephone as well as Installing, configuring, troubleshooting physical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain a wide variety of Linux/Window systems
• Extensive cPanel/WHM experience.
• Extensive OpenVZ and KVM Experience.
• Troubleshooting IPv4/IPv6, DNS, FTP, NFS, HTTP, hardware, and connectivity issues
• Communicate with vendors to design and troubleshoot systems
• Handle escalations for customer and internal issues and resolve them in a timely manner
• Monitor hardware, applications, and network status and proactively resolve issues
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems
• Installing and troubleshooting operating systems through remote consoles (IPMI, IDRAC, KVM)
• Installing, configuring, troubleshooting physical servers.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years in a web hosting support role
• 1+ years data center experience
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to do phone support
• Excellent customer service

Location:

Dallas or surrounding areas

Compensation:

Compensation is dependent on qualifications and experience.
