TOTH is currently seeking an experienced Drafter who is proficient in programs such as AutoCAD and/or Trimble Business Center or similar programs to join our land services department. We are searching for an energetic, resourceful team member who can multi-task while remaining organized and who thrives in an atmosphere with many active and high-priority projects. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in the technical aspects of land survey drafting and be able to read legal descriptions and plot the shapes into digital drawing files.
This professional should be detail-oriented with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic. They should also be able to integrate into a team of professionals and provide value toward efficient completion of our projects and tasks. Strong computer skills and a capacity to learn new technologies are a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Convert third-party geospatial data into ESRI or AutoCAD formats
- Produce drawings for survey plats and permitting and property easements
- Coordinate with engineers and others in the firm to provide project site plans and land-related information for use in design programs such as PLS CAD and Revit
- Produce metes and bounds easement exhibits, quality check boundary descriptions, and maintain a quality survey base map for transmission and distribution projects
- Perform high-level manual and/or visual review of preliminary data and final products to ensure usability and accuracy of all data entering the system
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed
- Perform other related technical and administrative duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Associates degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience
- 3+ years of experience as a CAD Technician or similar role
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Experience with 3D modeling in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of commonly used industry concepts, practices, and procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment on projects with project engineers, consultants, and other employees
- High self-motivation for completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner with minimal supervision and guidance
- Strong attention to detail while completing tasks to meet aggressive project schedules
Additional Desired Skills (not required):
- Proficient with Esri ArcGIS 10.2.1 software, Google Earth Pro, and ArcGIS Online
- Ability to create high quality maps and other GIS-related products with ArcMap
- Creation and maintenance of GIS geodatabases; editing tabular and geometric data
