Our surgical support staff focus on the unique skills required for assisting patients before, during, and after procedures. As a Surgical Tech you will ensure the OR rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use; monitor sterile field throughout procedures; scrubs for cases, and anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team. The Surgical Technician takes initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues, positions and transports patients, organizes room cleanup, and ensures efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary. This position is part time (48 hours per pay period), Varied 12-Hour Shifts, and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:- Two (2) year’s experience in the main OR
- CST Certification
- Trauma experience
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:- One (1) year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication skills; basic computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment.
- Detail oriented and ability to work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
