Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Mini-Circuits’ sells our products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive web site.

Serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers on quality and technical issues with procured materials. Work with various internal QA, electrical & mechanical engineering groups to assist in identifying, developing, qualifying and procuring state of the art components for RF & Microwave products. Assist in second sourcing efforts of components used in Mini-Circuits’ product lines. Assess and drive corrective action on supplier induced discrepancies for appropriate feedback and disposition of materials to internal customers and/or suppliers.

Support electrical design and manufacturing process engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and incoming inspection including MRB, corrective action, supplier performance and new supplier qualification. Support to incoming inspection includes defining test criteria, process and procedures for product inspection.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing supplier quality assurance functions pertaining to external raw materials and electrical component suppliers
  • To monitor the following activities and take actions as required:
    • Supplier quality performance
    • Supplier suspension for non-performance
    • New supplier evaluation/qualification
    • New product introduction through suppliers
    • Product management of new product introduction
    • Maintenance of approved supplier list
    • DMR/SCAR/MRB
  • Interface with QA, MPE and Engineering in establishing consistent quality requirements
  • Coordination of MRB activities with suppliers
  • Perform periodic supplier visits for continual monitoring of quality manufacturing
  • Perform initial evaluations & audits of proposed new suppliers, and re-evaluation of existing suppliers
  • Process, report, and track Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) and Supplier Notifications of Change reports (SNCs)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (with QA coursework) and 2 years’ experience in procurement/sourcing for a manufacturing company OR
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (with QA coursework) and 1 year procurement experience in a manufacturing company
  • 2 years practical experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create flow charts
  • Experience in eliminating supplier quality issues within a manufacturing operation as well as implementing effective supplier control processes that meet ISO 9001,AS 9100 and strict corporate standards.
  • Demonstrated experience driving the purchased part approval process and managing supplier quality issues as they relate to value streams.
