Start your career in teaching at San Francisco's leading provider of Head Start and Early Head Start programs. We provide excellent training and advancement opportunities at our 12 Child Development Centers. The Substitute Teacher works with teachers following all established classroom practices and rules to ensure safe, secure, welcoming, fun-filled learning environments for Early Head Start/Head Start Children. The Teaching Assistant is required to be available between the hours of 7:30 a.m-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, to be on call and ready to come in as needed.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 units in Early Childhood Education
• Valid CA Assistant Teacher permit OR ability to achieve Associate Teacher permit within six months of hire
• 6 months to one year working with young children
• Demonstrated competence in supporting families
• Models good judgment and effective problem solving
• Experience working with a diverse population
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team
• Good communication, problem-solving, and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude
• Must be able to bend and lift 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive salary $17.22 - $21.67
• Regular staff at our high need locations are eligible to receive an additional $100 per pay period.
