Substitute Sign Language Interpreter(Job Number: 210001WG)Description The Substitute Sign Language Interpreter is responsible for sign language interpretation duties in connection with the CPS deaf/hard of hearing program and performs related duties as required. The Substitute Sign Language Interpreter will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Job Title must possess the following qualifications: Certifications or Licenses required: Type of Experience and Number of Years: A minimum of 2 years educational interpreting experience highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Residency Requirement: As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and must maintain residency throughout their employment with the district.
