The Subaward Support Specialist will work in partnership with Contracting Officers and other CMS staff to efficiently operate and maintain an effective subawards management system. Principal duties will focus on subaward administration. The Subaward Support Specialist will perform specialized tasks in the area of subaward management as assigned by the supervisory Contracting Officer. These tasks may include a wide variety of discrete transactions occurring at various stages of the subaward process. The Subaward Support Specialist will provide administrative support to a contract management team working on a large subaward portfolio. Tasks will include reviewing documents, preparing documents for approval, tracking and filing documents. The Subaward Support Specialist will work with the team to coordinate creation, review and update of subawards as well as distribution of approved documents according to the established process in the Contract Management Services department. Advanced word processing skills are important. Experience with databases and electronic filing is required to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the unit filing system for subawards. Experience working in Research Administration or with Clinical Trials is a plus. Working from home will be required until at least June 30, 2020. Skills needed: Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and project management skills. Manage a variety of activities and pay close attention to detail. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and Internet capabilities. Read, write and speak English. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Ability to interact professionally in culturally diverse settings. Ability to research and interpret information to respond to inquiries. Typical Physical Demands: Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Technology to be Used: Personal Computer, Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, cell phones, PDAs and other hand held devices.
