JOB POSITION: Bookstore Student Assistant

Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently searching for Student Assistants to work in the Bronco Bookstore during the semester rush period.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for high levels of detail and includes tasks such as point-of-sale, web transaction processing, customer service, inventory merchandising, and shipping/receiving duties. In this position possible tasks may include any or all of the following, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

• Accurately process sales transactions and refunds
• Deal with various payment types with great accuracy
• Provide high level customer service
• Communicate via various methods such as in-person, email or phone to students, staff, and faculty
• Clean, stock and maintain a safe working environment at all times
• Back office functions such as inventory counting and system entry
• Basic tasks necessary to the day to day operations of a university bookstore

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be a Cal Poly Student. Must be self-directed and organized, basic knowledge of phone/email etiquette and professional workplace behavior, and be proficient using the latest version of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and mail merges; email and web searches.

• This is a 10-20 hour per week, temporary, non-benefited, non-exempt position
• Some weekends may be required, this is a seasonal position with the possibility of continued employment pending open positions.
• $14.00 an hour
• Training will be held 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the semester
