Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES STORE GOALS Achieves store goals by driving sales through visual merchandising, market events, and customer experience. Executes markdowns, shipping, receiving, and cash control with accuracy. Controls and minimizes shrink. Maintains payroll within budgetary guidance. Possesses business acumen by demonstrating financial and operational understanding of the organization. CUSTOMER FOCUS Maintains a customer-centric focus. Ensures associates are knowledgeable, helpful, and able to efficiently carry-out the store recovery functions. Provides associates the tools necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. Delivers positive resolutions to challenges and complaints from customers. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Trains and develops Assistant Store Managers and all store associates. Oversees and executes successful staffing strategies. Networks to build a pipeline of potential new associates. Recruits and retains qualified associates to ensure staffing needs are consistently met. Holds poor performing managers and associates accountable through conversation and documentation. Provides staff with growth opportunities through consistent coaching. STORE PRESENTATION Ensures store is properly merchandised and up to company’s visual standards. Merchandises store with a results-oriented mindset in order to drive key metrics. Makes visual merchandising decisions based on the needs of their customers. Executes floorset directives in a timely and effective manner. Keeps store’s product level high by ensuring new shipment is quickly processed and placed on floor. COMMUNICATION Coaches, confronts, and counsels associates to improve overall performance. Inform and direct associates daily on the evolving needs of the business through clear and concise direction. Follows up with team to ensure projects were properly executed. Communicates store information with the District Manager and Support Center. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS Managers are required to work approximately 40 hours per week. However, managers may be required to work more or less than 40 hours per week depending on the time of year and the needs of the store. Managers are required to work some nights, most weekends, and during peak holiday periods.
The General Managers and Store Managers are results driven. They are the leaders, trainers, and motivators in the field. They are strategic, ambitious, and autonomous. They are on the front line of executing company initiatives. They will work passionately to get the job done.
