JOB DESCRIPTION: Store Manager

REPORTS TO: District Manager

STATUS: hourly/non-exempt or salary/exempt

The Store Manager is principally responsible for building, maintaining and institutionalizing an environment that supports the Boot Barn mission, demonstrating the highest level of leadership in support of exemplary customer service, associate development/engagement, merchandising standards, store operations and attainment of the sales goals. Our store managers are business drivers whose key role is to attain and exceed sales goals and delight customers by leading and owning all customer facing and operational elements within their store. The Store Manager will partner their District Manager, Regional Human Resources, and Store Support Center Partners in pursuit of year-over-year increases and a best in class internal/external customer experience, ensuring consistent profitability of the business through optimized staffing, shrink awareness/performance and expense management.

Essential Job Functions

? Lead store employees to foster a service and selling culture, exceed customer expectations and build consumer relationships that will be enduring

? Develop the skills of store staff to ensure customers receive the highest level of service through creating an engaging customer centric selling and service environment, accurate product knowledge, maintain SSC merchandising standards, and all other components of customer service

? Know your customer and their needs. Communicate localized needs to District Manager

? Review sales goals with associates and metrics that will help them achieve their goals (UPT), provide in the moment, consistent coaching and actionable feedback to the team to achieve their goals

? Hold the team accountable for achieving sales goals and key metrics through frequent recognition of excellence and frequent discussions where goals are not being met

? Analyze and measure business trends to maximize sales to meet or exceed key metrics and sales goals

? Ensure adequate staffing to meet the changing business needs and payroll expenses

? Ensure your associate/leadership team is a reflection of your store’s community demographics ? Adapt to changing business needs and procedures; adjust store schedule as needed, determine payroll implications, implement operational directives, train staff on new procedures and policies, and communicate with all appropriate District, Region and SSC partners

? Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations, signing and assortments to meet the needs of your customer along with adhering to all Company visual presentation guidelines

? Regularly shop the competition within your market, understand and communicate pricing differences to the SSC, identify competitive opportunities and communicate to your District Manager

? Lead by example and be available to assist Sales Associates during peak business hours by being present on the floor, along with providing input and feedback throughout the selling process, utilize team selling techniques to coach and support associates with customer engagement

? Lead and coach associates in building customer engagement and expansion of our rewards program, explain the benefits of the program and how to increase participation with each customer interaction

? Recognize performance of top talent and build a bench of future leaders

? Commit to the ongoing development of individual team members to meet various career goals within the Company

? Partner with District Manager to plan and execute successful volume driving events that involve outreach to the local community/market

Other Duties and Responsibilities

? Demonstrate high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, team members and vendors

? Demonstrate high level of quality of work, attendance and appearance

? Work a variety of shifts to meet the business needs including nights, weekends and holidays

? Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary

? Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures and Safety Regulations

? Adhere to local, state and federal employment laws

? Travel up to 15% of scheduled shifts

? Any additional responsibilities assigned by District Manager or SSC partners Nature of Supervision

? Work with District Manager and Regional Director to ensure smooth operation of the store and that sales goals are being achieved. Performance Measures

? Sales performance to budget, customer experience scores, payroll to budget, associate retention and shrink Supervisory Responsibility

? Directly manages the store staff

? Inspires the store team to achieve goals; treats all with respect

? Provides coaching, direction, develops and empowers direct reports

? Ensures work flow and processes are to maximum efficiencies for business necessity

? Lead, guide and coach team to accomplish common goals Education/Experience

? Associates Degree, and/or 3 to 5 years’ experience in retail store management. Experience managing directs reports and leading teams in a selling environment.

? Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills

? Well-developed business acumen including the ability to thoroughly understand all aspects of the business

? Expert ability and experience in surfacing and analyzing opportunities and risk with the ability to develop and implement follow through plans

? Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
