Recruitment Information This posting is for the State of Hawaii, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Business Registration Division. The Securities Enforcement Branch of the Business Registration Division is seeking a CRF Staff Attorney. Education: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree. This position is exempt from the civil service and considered temporary in nature. Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be "at will," which means that you may be discharged from your employment at the prerogative of the department head or designee at any time.
The position is located on Oahu (Downtown Honolulu).
Salary commensurate with education and experience.

The position provides legal services in the investigation and prosecution of securities law and franchise law violations. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for instituting legal action against registrants and non-registered entities and individuals under Chapters 485A and 482E, HRS.
Experience: Possess three (3) years' work experience as a licensed attorney.
Knowledge: Financial transactions and accounting principles; Federal and State Securities Laws, Chapter 485A and their related Rules and Regulations; Franchise Investment Law, Chapter 482E, Hawaii Revised Statutes and its related Rules and Regulations; DCCA Hawaii Administrative Rules on Administrative Practice and Procedure; policy and procedures of the North American Securities Administrators Association, Inc.; FINRA's Rules of Conduct and other Self-Regulatory Organizations.
Skills/Abilities: Analyze and interpret business-related documents including, but not limited to, financial statements and bank records; review and assist in the follow up of investigations; research statutes, regulations, case law and resource materials; negotiate settlements and prosecute civil and administrative actions before an administrative hearings officer or judge in circuit court; prepare and conduct administrative hearings; participate in presentations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Requirement: Licensed to practice law in the State of Hawaii.
