Job Summary

We are looking for an individual with extensive hands-on experience with workload automation, batch scheduling, orchestration, workload scheduler, and development with batch experience.

The Senior Technology Engineer is involved in the full technology life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, configuring, testing, implementing and supporting workload automation and job scheduling software, hardware and systems. Senior Technology Engineers work closely with Analysts and Product Managers to understand the business requirements to drive the analysis and physical design of technical solutions in the workload automation and job scheduling area. Senior Technology Engineers are also responsible for creating reference architectures, best practices and procedures. Senior Technology Engineers may be assigned to either implementation or support functions. Implementation involves creating new technology based solutions whereas support involves upgrades, maintenance or issue resolution to existing technology solutions.

Job Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities are:
  • Designs, implements, and supports the workload automation environments that support multiple applications.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees workload automation best practice policies and procedures.
  • Analysis of end user’s needs, business and technology requirements in the workload automation and job scheduling areas and translating them into technology solution capabilities.
  • Design, configuration, development, documentation, testing of technology solutions to meet business or technology requirements in the workload automation and job scheduling areas.
  • Evaluates existing technology solutions to determine fit for the new requirements. Recommends technology alternatives. Collaborates with other stakeholders to ensure proper integration of the new technology solution with the existing technology solutions.
  • Creates technology solutions based on a disciplined process and ensures they meet all product and service level requirements. Ensures that the design and technology solution implementation meets security and QA standards. Makes solutions and solution parts production-ready by following the standard change management processes.
  • Documents capabilities and any changes to new or existing components and associated test activities and test results.
  • Must be able to illustrate subject matter expertise in the workload automation space with complete knowledge of the enterprise scheduler environment.

Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (STEM or IT for example) plus 6 years of professional technology solution engineering.
  • In Lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of experience of professional technology solution engineering.
  • Demonstrated scripting skills in PowerShell, Perl, Python.
  • Experience with workload automation and job scheduling products. Experience with JAMS Help Systems is ideal.
  • Demonstrated experience with common networking protocols and services including Advanced File Transfer (AFT), TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, FTP/SFTP, SNMP, LDAP, LFTP and tools for accessing these end points like WinSCP, Putty, FileZilla etc.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring tools and commands to ensure quick and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Exposure to Cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through technology solution ownership and adoption, projects or other work experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business outcomes, business requirements and technical requirements into technical designs for new technology solutions or enhancements to existing technology solutions, while following architectural standards and organizational policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task effectively with strong analytical ability, problem solving skills, and attention to details
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to foster working relationships with the team, IT Management and Client departments.
